Description: Special computerised equipment fitted to the Bitumen Distributor which monitors, displays and records the output performance of the Surface Dressing Operation. It measures and displays the variables of forward speed of the sprayer, binder flow and spray width and displays to the driver the actual spray rate being achieved. This allows the driver to accurately achieve the specified rate of spread of binder to be applied to the road surface.

The SOMU also measures the distance travelled and the area sprayed. The spraying pressure and binder temperature are also measured and displayed. All parameters are recorded in the computer memory for downloading to the Spraymaster Surface Dressing Management System.

Printout and download information: A computer download and printout of the recorded information of the Surface Dressing operation is provided showing: Road Reference, Day, Date, Time, Actual Binder distribution plot, Spraying Pressure, Spraying Temperature, Distance Travelled, Area Sprayed, Sprayrate achieved, Chippings tonnage and Rate of Spread of Chippings. A docket can be printed showing this detail which can also be downloaded to the Spraymaster Surface Dressing Management System.
